Lukka Valery (b. 1945, Yaroslavl Region) Painter Graduated from the I.E. Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1977). Member of the Russian Artists' Union. In the late 1970s cofounded a group of artists who have developed a concept of "brutal", textured painting, using rough gesso, textile, glass, metal, plastic and other city waste, as well as the traditional oil and tempera. In this mixed media, they seek to express the life history in the dynamics of birth, growth, decay and death. Exhibited regularly in Russia and abroad. His works are housed in the RM, St. Petersburg; SFAM, Moscow; Kiev Museum of Russian Art; Zimmerly Art Museum, New Brunswick, USA, and other museums and private collections in Russia and Europe.
